Today I bought a Lucky Bamboo! Their official name is Dracaena sanderiana and being called "Lucky Bamboo" doesn't make sense because it's not actually bamboo, but it's mine nevertheless. His name is Takedakeshii. In Japanese take means bamboo. But takedakeshii means ferocious!
Japanese toilets can sometimes be scary, but they're also pretty fun. I don't think I'll ever like the heated seat though, it just makes me feel like someone has been sitting on it for a long time.
Knowing how to say "That is a cat" and "On the desk is a pencil" is great but... when will you ever use those? Unless you're taking a basic Japanese test it's pretty unlikely. Most of these sentences aren't in formal Japanese because it's conversational pieces.
I live in Colorado where it's pretty important to drink water. I've misplaced my water bottle so I've been drinking juice, soda, and anything but water for a while now. Today I needed to deliver my mum's purse (she left it at the house) and not having a car I decided to just bike it to her. It's all downhill to her so the ride there was great and I didn't feel a bit tired. Of course that means the ride back was all uphill... After reaching the top of Hill 1 (feeling sick the whole way up and my heart pounding harder than I've ever experienced) I stopped to wait for the light to change when stars filled my vision so much I couldn't see the crosswalk's light anymore, my eyes were becoming heavy, and I instantly knew I was dancing in Dehydration Land. Fortunately I made it across the street so I could rest under the shade of someone's tree before making yet another walk of shame home.
